/ LONGEST TOUCHDOWN

Longest touchdown

How far the longest touchdown of a game actually travels. Every touchdown from 2024 through week 7 of 2026, counted from play-by-play. When two scores tie for longest, both are credited.

1 · How long is the longest touchdown of a game?

Each bar is a 10-yard band. The dashed line is the median. Slide to pool games together: at 1 game you are looking at one game's longest score, at 2 or 3 you are looking at the longest across that many games at once, the way a multi-game day works.

1 Median yds · 75th pct · 90th pct

2 · Every touchdown, by position

One dot per touchdown, 3,392 in all. The box spans the middle half of each position's scores and the thick line is the median. The defensive column barely touches the floor — a defence that scores has usually run a long way to do it, while the running back and quarterback columns pile up against zero.

3 · If the longest touchdown lands here, who scored it

Given a game's longest score finished in that range, how often each position owned it. Past 70 yards it is usually a defence.

4 · Does the game state change who wins it

The same question split by how the game went. Read down a column to see a position climb or fall as games get higher scoring.

5 · Build your own split

Filter the 660 games however you like and see which positions were credited. Every box is optional; leave one blank to ignore it.

6 · Who owns the longest touchdown

Share of the 660 games in which each position was credited with the longest score. A kick or punt return credits both the returner’s position and the defence/special-teams unit, and a tie credits everyone involved — so these add to more than 100%.

7 · Every game's longest touchdown

One row per game, regular season and playoffs, in week order. Playoff games are badged POST. Click any column to sort, or search for a player, team or week. Tied games list both scorers.

8 · Who owns a game’s longest touchdown

Everyone credited with the longest touchdown of a game since 2024, playoffs included — one-time scorers as well as repeat leaders. Use the count filter to narrow to players who have done it more than once. Defences count as a unit, not as individuals. Kick and punt returns credit both the returner and that team’s unit, the way the scoring works — so Ray Davis’s 97-yard return counts for him and for Buffalo. Search by player or team. Now is the current roster; Did it for is who he played for at the time, with the count for each — DJ Moore is a Bill now but six of his seven came as a Bear. The toggle decides which one a team search matches. Ties count for every player involved.

9 · Which teams produce the longest touchdown

Of the games each team played, how often one of their own players or units scored the game’s longest touchdown. Counts are shown next to each bar. Ties credit both teams, which is why the league figure sits slightly above half.
